Changing the virus definition folder / location on Microsoft Security Essentials is not a built-in option in the software. If you need to protect drive C with Auto-restore function (using Radix Reload or other restore software like deepfreeze), you will constantly lose all updates and may need to update the virus definition every boot.

Using Radix MSE updater, you can set a new location to the virus definition folder and by that keeping your virus definition and MSE update - up to date.
